ECQA Certified EU Project Manager
The management of European projects is a complex process which requires experienced and trained experts. One of the main tasks of the EU Project Managers is to support project coordinators and partners in the development and application of international projects. Based on general know-how in project management, EU Project Managers acquire the necessary skills to manage projects that are co-funded by EU.
The seminar offers knowledge and best practice in all relevant topics for the management of EU projects.

EU PROGRAMS
The Training covers a range of EU Programs, the main focus is mainly on
- FP7 - 7th EU Framework Program for Research
- Lifelong Learning Program
- Structural Funds
- etc.
The participants will go through all the procedures of project implementation, from contract management to finances, reporting and exploitation of project results. An experienced EU Project Manager will guide you through the training, where you also get an insight into practical examples from many successfully completed European projects.
The course is especially designed to provide project managers and financial personnel with the skills needed to successfully implement European projects.
DURATION AND FORMS OF TRAINING
The training course is available either as a 3-days training or as a 5-days extended version including development of project proposal or alternatively project management planning and development for your own project or project ideas. Training courses are available either as

CERTIFICATION
Participants of the seminar will have the possibility to attend the exam for
"ECQA Certified EU Project Manager"
Participants need pass at least 8 out of the 11 elements to be listed on the ECQA homepage as 'ECQA Certified EU Project Manager'. The test is modular with 10 questions per element (with a total of 110 questions for all elements). You need at least 66% to successfully pass an element.
The online test has a duration of three hours.
Participants who perform a test (based on a European test questions pool) and pass learning elements will achieve a certificate by the European Certification and Qualification Association (ECQA) now involving 60 partners from 24 countries and about 30 different job roles.
The course program bases on the principles of the EQF – European Qualification Framework . The course bases on learning modules. These learning modules can be attended in different countries. It is also possible to receive certificates for single modules (modular system) as well as per day attendance for selected modules.
CONTENT
Practical know-how and best practices in the management of EU projects is integrated into the Europe-wide training and certification schema. At the seminar, participants will obtain and improve knowledge, applicable to all EU programs. They will understand:
- the life cycle of EU-funded projects
- structure of EU institutions and EU programs
- best practice how to integrate your project idea into EU funding programs
- EU programs like FP7, Lifelong Learning Program, Stuctural Funds etc.
- calls for proposals and related documentation
- the process for project application and success criteria
- from contract preparation to the project implementation
- financial planning and reporting, preparation of audits
- best practices in selecting and managing EU project partnership and partner search facilities
- risk management in EU projects and best practice how to avoid risks
- quality management in European projects
- management of distributed teams and IT support
- inter-cultural factors in European projects
TRAINING COURSE DEVELOPMENT SINCE 2003!
A European skills set of an European Project Manager, a set of courses and exercises and a skills portal system to test your skills have been developed in a European partnership in 2003 – 2006 (LEONARDO DA VINCI, MANAGEUR). Collaboration has been continued in different projects like TEMPUS CROMEU, where the training was implemented and adapted to Western Balcan Countries like Croatia.
A European Job Role Committee in ECQA led by Skills International GmbH continues the development and coordination of this successful job role and qualification.
So far more than 700 EU project managers have been trained in Europe. Participants came from leading European companies, research centers, administrations, ministries etc.
