Step 1 - Identify Core Competence
A core competence is a field of knowledge of the company
- where you define your “key” competence
- and where you are stronger or different than the competition
As a first step within the course, you will elaborate an architecture which illustrates the core competencies of your organization or if you do not work with an organization yet, you will elaborate your own personal core competences.
Step 2 - Identify Key Customers Segments and Key Customers
Customer Relationship Management is a key issue in innovation management, as most innovation and development projects are not handled within the organization alone, but in collaboration with teams from other organizations or from abroad. As soon as an organization has identified the core competences, it is important to find out which customers most dynamically contribute ideas to this core competence.
A key collaboration partner
- Is a (potential) customer or also a competitor
- Has the capability to influence learning processes and creation of knowedge either on personal /
organisational level
- Is a potential partner for collaboration partnerships to create new products or services
Step 3 - Team Management
Innovation Management is only successful if the roles and responsibilities within the collaborating teams are defined clearly. Team management also refers to collaboration with distributed teams often placed in other locations or countrires.
Further steps
The training participants will apply the other competence areas for their own organization. In addition, best practice examples will be proposed.
